Astha (Ayodhya Special Train) special trains bound for Ayodhya have been rescheduled, aiming to alleviate congestion in the temple town inundated with pilgrims since the grand opening of the Ram temple for devotees.

Initially set to commence from January 26, nearly 20 Astha special trains to reschedule and will now arrive in Ayodhya starting February 5. The decision comes amidst concerns of overcrowding, prompting the state’s transport minister, Daya Shankar Singh, to prioritize a hassle-free pilgrimage experience for devotees.

Singh highlighted that the rescheduled Ayodhya Special trains will operate from February 5 onwards, with a commitment to facilitating swift movement of pilgrims to and from the railway station within 24 hours of arrival.

Following a high-level meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to manage the influx of pilgrims, officials have intensified efforts to streamline crowd control and ensure optimal facilities for visitors. The focus remains on regulating the flow of devotees to maintain order and safety in the temple town.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief Alok Kumar confirmed the request for special trains to aid pilgrim visits, coinciding with similar initiatives from the Bharatiya Janata Party across different states.

To manage the influx, arrangements are underway to coordinate bus services while prioritizing the movement of devotees who have completed their darshan to make way for incoming pilgrims.

With the addition of 300 electric buses and plans for more, efforts are underway to enhance transportation facilities. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath has urged VIPs planning visits to Ayodhya to coordinate in advance to regulate pilgrim flow, with BJP cadres actively assisting pilgrims on-site.
