Vande Bharat Aurangabad

The South Central Railway (SCR) has unveiled a proposed timetable for the Vande Bharat Express operating on the Jalna-Mumbai route, including four scheduled halts. This anticipated express train, soon to announce its launch date, is set to stop at Aurangabad, Manmad, Nashik, and Thane railway stations.

Commencing its journey at 5:05 am from Jalna, the train is scheduled to arrive at Aurangabad by 5:53 am, Nashik at 8:38 am, Thane at 11:10 am, and ultimately reach Mumbai by 11:55 am.

However, owing to track conditions and congestion, the superfast train is anticipated to take six hours from Aurangabad to reach Mumbai. Rajesh Shinde, the Public Relations Officer of SCR’s Nanded division, revealed that the Vande Bharat Express will operate on weekdays except Fridays. He further shared, “The Railway Board has approved the Vande Bharat Express for Marathwada, expected to kick off before year-end.”

Expressing enthusiasm for the Vande Bharat Express’s debut in Marathwada, railway activist Anant Borkar suggested reconsidering the departure timings. “The train should ideally accommodate tourists’ schedules, enabling them to board during evening hours after exploring Mumbai,” Borkar stated, underscoring the current departure timing’s incompatibility with tourist preferences.

In response, SCR authorities assured that passenger feedback regarding the train’s timing would be communicated to higher authorities.

The Vande Bharat Express is slated to halt for 2 minutes at each station. Its return journey will commence from Mumbai at 1:10 pm, stopping at Thane (1:40 pm), Nashik (4:28 pm), Aurangabad (7:08 pm), and concluding at Jalna by 8:30 pm.
