In a welcoming decision, Maharashtra’s luxurious train, the Deccan Odyssey, arrived on, February 2nd, with 28 passengers on-board. The guests will disembark at 1:30 pm and proceed to explore the historic Daulatabad Fort and the world-renowned Ellora Caves.

According to sources, the guests of the Deccan Odyssey will have the opportunity to visit the heritage Soneri Mahal and participate in the inaugural function of the three-day Ellora Ajanta International Festival in the evening.

Earlier, there was some confusion regarding the participation of Deccan Odyssey passengers in the festival. The Deputy Director (Tourism) had announced that passengers would receive free entry tickets to attend the cultural festival. However, initial reports from the Lokmat Times newspaper suggested that passengers, both domestic and international, would not attend the festival as the luxury train operator had not scheduled operations until March 30th.

In response to this, the office-bearers of the Ellora Ajanta International Festival Committee engaged in correspondence with both the State Government and the private operator of the Deccan Odyssey. Subsequently, the Managing Director (MD) of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and the Deputy Director (Tourism) issued reminders urging the operation of the train to coincide with the festival dates.

As a result, efforts were made to ensure the participation of Deccan Odyssey passengers in the Ellora Ajanta International Festival, enhancing the cultural experience for all involved.
