Additionally, the “Lavan Legal Charity Challenge” hosts 30 teams of four, combining competition with fundraising for charities. The event has a historical backdrop, dating back to the rumored swims of prisoners from Rottnest Island to the mainland during its prison days. The first documented swimmer to cross was Gerd Von Dincklage-Schulenburg on January 24, 1956, marking a historic journey of 9 hours and 45 minutes.
