Nashik to Ayodhya Aastha Special Train
The Indian Railways is launching special “Aastha Special” trains to connect 66 locations nationwide, making travel to Ayodhya for pilgrims easier after the Ram Temple inauguration. These operations start on January 22, coinciding with the consecration ceremony. The trains consist of 22 coaches each, with more added if needed, and tickets are available exclusively for round trips through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

The special trains will depart from various cities like Agartala, Tinsukia, Barmer, Katra, Jammu, Nashik, Dehradun, Bhadrak, Khurda Road, Kotayam, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kazipet, among others. In Tamil Nadu, nine stations including Chennai, Salem, and Madurai will offer Aastha Specials. Maharashtra will see services from seven stations including Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Wardha, Jalna, and Nashik.
Fifteen special trains from Pune to Ayodhya, starting January 30, with sleeper coaches, have been scheduled in response to devotee requests. Similarly, 15 trains from Ayodhya to Pune will accommodate approximately 1,500 passengers each.
Discussions about launching a special train from Kolhapur to Ayodhya are ongoing. Specific train details won’t be available in the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) for security reasons, but bookings can be made through IRCTC.
Aastha special train ticket price
The train ticket prices from Nashik to Ayodhya train are not disclosed yet but are expected to be similar. Charges such as reservation fees, superfast charges, catering charges, service fees, and GST apply. IRCTC will serve vegetarian food onboard. A Jalna to Ayodhya train timetable will be accessible on IRCTC.

- A single return ticket will be issued for Aastha Special trains, ferrying passengers from their originating station to Ayodhya and back. For instance, travellers from Nasik in Maharashtra going to Ayodhya must book return tickets.
- The train ticket will encompass reservation charges, catering charges, superfast charges, IRCTC service charges, and goods and services tax (GST). Fares may be rounded off as per existing rules.
- The base fare for Aastha Special trains will be calculated based on the total distance of the round trip.
- Child fare rules will remain consistent with those for normal trains.
- Booking for Aastha Special train tickets is exclusively available online via IRCTC.
- Cancellation and refund policies for Aastha Special trains will mirror those for normal trains.
