Jarange is even contemplating a fast-unto-death while en route to Mumbai for Maratha Reservation Mumbai March, discussing this possibility with fellow community members. Expressing dissatisfaction with the state government for issuing notices to participating Marathas, he warned that neglecting their reservation demand would be a grave mistake by politicians in the state government, affecting not only Maharashtra but 14 other states.

Claiming that they gave the government seven months without any action, Jarange asserted, “Even if the government resorts to using bullets, we won’t back down without securing reservation.” Anticipating sacrifice, he vowed not to retreat. Some believe further discussions with the state government are futile, as despite numerous meetings and time extensions, promises made in writing remain unfulfilled. Blaming the government for shutting the door on discussions and not providing reservation despite evidence, Jarange urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to address the Maratha reservation issue promptly.
