Six two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and one rickshaw, stranded due to the traffic jam, were obliterated by the speeding truck. Preliminary reports suggest that 15 to 20 people sustained injuries, with one woman losing her life in the tragic incident at Valmi Naka on Paithan Road.
After a challenging rescue operation that spanned a couple of hours, all the injured individuals were extricated and promptly transported to the government medical college and hospital.
Eyewitnesses recounted the horrifying scene as the speeding truck, en route from Solapur to Dhule highway, lost control and plowed into slow-moving vehicles on the congested road. The tightly packed traffic made it difficult to separate the vehicles, leading to a prolonged rescue effort.
The aftermath of the accident left a trail of crushed vehicles, including bikes, and shattered glass strewn across the road. Commuters, along with the assistance of the police, faced the arduous task of freeing drivers trapped in the wreckage.

Waluj police inspector Dilip Gangurde revealed that the vehicles were moving slowly due to ongoing road repair work at WALMI Naka. Around 7:30 pm, a speeding truck careened into the stationary vehicles. The impact was so severe that it propelled a four-wheeler, two tempos, cargo, and five two-wheelers.
The officer noted that claims were being made about the truck’s brakes failing, but a conclusive statement would only be possible after a thorough inspection.

The accident, occurring around six o’clock on Friday evening, intensified the chaos as the speeding truck collided with seven two-wheelers, four four-wheelers, and a rickshaw. The calamitous accident triggered a flurry of activity in the area. Preliminary information indicates the unfortunate death of one woman and approximately 15 people sustaining serious injuries. The deceased woman was rushed to Ghati Hospital, while some of the injured were admitted to private and government hospitals.
