Aurangabad :Indian Railways to Introduce New Vande Bharat Express Linking Jalna and Mumbai via Sambhaji Nagar Aurangabad

Indian Railways is set to launch a fresh Vande Bharat Express in Marathwada, connecting Jalna and Mumbai through the Aurangabad railway station.

A senior official from South Central Railway mentioned that this new service could kick off by late December or early January, catering to the eager passengers awaiting this much-anticipated train from Mumbai to Aurangabad.

The tracks on the Jalna-Manmad stretch have undergone testing, while a dedicated group of railway staff is undergoing training in Secunderabad to manage the operations of this new express.

Expected to stop at Aurangabad, the Vande Bharat Express aims to bridge the gap between Jalna and Mumbai. Anticipated to run faster than several other express trains in Marathwada, it’s projected to hit speeds averaging 130 km/h, subject to successful track trials. However, its official launch is pending formal approval from the Railway Board.

Recently, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the second Vande Bharat Express, linking Varanasi and New Delhi. This milestone, part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, marked the 10,000th locomotive produced by Banaras Locomotive Works. This high-speed train promises improved travel between Uttar Pradesh and the capital, enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth.

The Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express is all set to commence regular services on December 20, connecting Varanasi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, and New Delhi. Crafted for a swift and contemporary travel experience, it caters to tourists and business travellers alike, offering comfort, speed, and efficiency. The route aims to stimulate industrial, cultural, and economic growth in the region.

Simultaneously, the government is actively enhancing the transportation sector, notably through a 402 km section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, indicating a concerted effort to bolster the nation’s transport infrastructure.

Vande Bharat Express, a prominent medium-distance train service under Indian Railways, mirrors the essence of the renowned Shatabdi Express, seamlessly connecting cities within a 10-hour distance. These day trains act as vital links between various Indian cities.

During rigorous trials, these trains have accomplished remarkable speeds, reaching up to 183 km/h, surpassing the certified speed of 160 km/h. A standout feature is its exceptional acceleration and deceleration, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in merely 52 seconds during trials, setting a benchmark for efficiency.

Originally named Train 18, this impressive trainset was conceptualized by the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) and skilfully crafted by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF). It represents a modern marvel in the realm of Indian rail transportation, embodying innovation and efficiency in its design and performance.
