Cobb County police diligently escorted the crowd out of the park, redirecting them onto South Service Road, where an undisclosed number of suspects discharged gunfire towards the officers.
In response, an officer returned fire, striking one of the suspects who was subsequently transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The current condition of the individual remains unknown.
A representative from the Cobb County Police Department verified that the officer involved sustained no injuries, though a lone vehicle suffered damage in the crossfire.
