petrol pump aurangabad

Petrol Pump Aurangabad -Citizens went into a frenzy buying fuel because they were worried there might not be enough. This rush came after news of a potential truck drivers’ strike due to a new driving law. Even though the strike didn’t happen, everyone rushed to petrol pumps to fill up their tanks.

In just two days, the petrol pumps in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Aurangabad district saw a massive increase in sales. Usually, they sell a certain amount of petrol and diesel each day, but during this time, it shot up way more than usual. This made the petrol pumps earn a lot more money than they typically do.

Although the strike ended shortly after starting, the panic buying caused extensive queues at petrol stations, resulting in a staggering increase in revenue by Rs 5.69 crore compared to the usual daily averages.

Reports indicate a remarkable three-fold surge in sales at petrol pumps throughout the city and district over these two days. In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Aurangabad district alone, which houses 200 petrol pumps, the daily petrol sales, averaging between 60,000-65,000 litres, skyrocketed to an astonishing 1,85,000-1,90,000 litres. Concurrently, diesel sales surged from 1.2 lakh litres to an incredible 3.9 lakh litres.

This surge translated into an additional revenue of Rs 2.5 crore for petrol and Rs 3.66 crore for diesel. During this period, petrol and diesel prices per litre remained at Rs 107.29 and Rs 93.63, respectively.

In the city, the amount of petrol and diesel sold on January 1 and 2 was much higher than what’s normal. Most of the people rushing to buy fuel were using transport vehicles like cars and private buses. They wanted to make sure they had enough fuel for their longer trips, so they bought more than they usually do.
