Jalna Railway Station Redevelopment Plans -In an effort to align with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of elevating Indian Railways to world-class standards, Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the redevelopment of Jalna Railway Station on 03rd Oct 2022.

This initiative is part of a larger plan to revamp 199 railway stations across the nation with a focus on intelligent building concepts.

The upcoming redevelopment of Jalna Railway Station is inspired by the local culture and heritage, with the theme centered around the famous Ganpati Mandir. Shri Vaishnaw highlighted the approved design, ensuring that the new station will feature a spacious roof plaza. This plaza will not only house essential passenger amenities but also provide space for retail, cafeterias, recreational facilities, and more.

The redeveloped Jalna Station aims to enhance passenger experience with facilities such as a food court, waiting lounge, children’s playing area, and a dedicated space for local products. The project is part of the broader plan, with tenders already issued for 47 stations, and work progressing rapidly at 32 stations.

Jalna Railway station redevelopment news

Shri Vaishnaw also announced the introduction of 400 new high-speed Vande Bharat trains, with 100 of them set to be manufactured at the Rail Coach Factory in Latur, Maharashtra. This move is expected to strengthen rail infrastructure in Marathwada, leading to industrial development and increased employment opportunities.

Hon’ble Minister of State of Railways, Coal, and Mines, Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve, expressed his satisfaction with the emphasis on railway station development. He highlighted the importance of the redeveloped Jalna Station in decongesting crowds and facilitating smoother train operations. The newly established pit line at Jalna is a crucial component that will enhance the railway network in the Marathwada region, allowing for the introduction of more passenger trains.

The project includes the development of coach maintenance facilities, with a cost of Rs 92 crores. The new pit line, designed with CAMTECH technology, can handle 28-coach trains. Additional features include a service building, shunting neck towards Nanded end, and an automatic coach washing plant for exterior cleaning.

The redevelopment of Jalna Railway Station is poised to usher in a new era of improved rail services, connectivity, and enhanced passenger amenities.
