A strong and persistent cold wave, along with thick fog, has taken hold of North India and is now making its presence felt in Maharashtra, especially in the northern areas. Recent reports reveal that the minimum temperature in North Maharashtra has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius, indicating a continued spell of cold weather expected to last for the next four days.
Dr. Anupam Kashyapi, who heads the weather forecasting at India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune, pointed out that cold winds from the west, originating in the Himalayan regions, are consistently blowing. This has caused a widespread cold wave in North India, reaching even the capital city, Delhi. As a result, the minimum temperature in North Maharashtra has fallen below the 10-degree mark.

Even Temperature in Pune, in the western part of the state, saw a decrease in the minimum temperature to 10.8 degrees Celsius.
The current weather pattern suggests that the cold conditions will persist for the next four days. The minimum temperature in North Maharashtra is expected to range between eight and nine degrees Celsius, while other parts of the state may experience a drop of two to three degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature.
