Majlis Ko Ukhad Fekne Ka Sankalp Lijiye, Amit Shah Remarks Against AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel
In the recent sojourn to Aurangabad ahead of the impending Lok Sabha Elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah strategically engaged with the audience, directing his focus on AIMIM’s MP, Imtiaz Jaleel. His assertive proclamation resonated, “Pledge to Extricate Majlis from Sambhaji Nagar.” The event, marked by heightened security measures, underscored the keen attention on the electoral dynamics in Aurangabad during Shah’s visit.
In an expansive rally held in Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Mr. Shah opined that leaders within the INDIA bloc of parties refrained from “practicing the politics of principles but adhered to the politics of dynasty.”
“As the forthcoming Lok Sabha election approaches, there emerge two factions. One, the NDA alliance under PM Modi’s tutelage, and the other, an imperious INDIA alliance led by Rahul Gandhi, amalgamating dynastic parties. Sonia Gandhi aspires to elevate Rahul Gandhi to the position of the next PM. Sharad Pawar aims to position his daughter [Supriya Sule] as the next CM of Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray harbors aspirations for his son [Aaditya] to assume the role of CM. Mamata Banerjee’s ambition is to see her nephew [Abhishek Banerjee] become the CM of West Bengal. Those dedicated to the prospects of their progeny cannot be true patriots,” asserted Mr. Shah.
Currently entangled in seat-sharing discord among the ruling Mahayuti parties (Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP), Mr. Shah’s two-day visit to the State included pre-election consultations with local leaders in Akola and participation in a youth conclave in Jalgaon. Anticipated discussions with CM Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar are slated to iron out seat-sharing intricacies.
He vehemently criticized Mr. Thackeray for aligning with parties (Congress and Sharad Pawar-led NCP) that opposed the renaming of Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (in honor of the Maratha warrior-king Sambhaji, Shivaji’s son, who met a cruel fate at the hands of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1689).
Majlis Ko Ukhad Fekne Ka Sankalp Lijiye
“Uddhav Thackeray should reflect on his actions. Associating with parties that opposed the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, impeded the surgical strike on terrorists, and obstructed the name change of Aurangabad from Sambhajinagar is a matter of shame. How can those aligning with parties against Bal Thackeray’s vision [of renaming Aurangabad to Sambhajinagar] claim to be his successors?” queried Mr. Shah.
The Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha seat, presently held by AIMIM’s Imtiaz Jaleel, came under a blistering assault from Mr. Shah, who urged the audience “to expel the Majlis from Sambhajinagar” and “present a lotus to PM Modi” in the impending election.
Deputy CM and Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, addressing the gathering, took a swipe at both Uddhav Thackeray and Mr. Jaleel, pondering, “Did this MP [from Sambhajinagar] advocate for the abolishment of Article 370? Did he endorse the construction of the Ram Mandir? Today, the situation is such that even those whom we considered allies [Mr. Thackeray] are aligning with those who opposed the annulment of Article 370.”
Amit Shah Maharashtra Visit, Aurangabad No Drone Zone
Amit Shah’s journey commenced with his arrival in Aurangabad on a Monday night, setting the stage for a dynamic exploration of the state. Expressing his excitement on social media, Shah revealed his two-day agenda, promising interactions with the youth and diligent party workers.
The itinerary unfolds with public programmes scheduled in Akola and Jalgaon on Tuesday, where Shah is expected to address the public, engaging with the community and sharing his perspectives. These events serve as a direct connection between the Union Home Minister and the people of Maharashtra.
An integral part of the visit involves paying homage to the revered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shah plans to garland the statue of the iconic leader at Kranti Chowk in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This symbolic gesture underlines the cultural and historical significance of the region.
As the Lok Sabha elections draw nearer, Shah’s visit takes on added importance. Maharashtra, with its 48 MPs, holds strategic relevance in the political landscape. Shah’s interactions and engagements during this visit are crucial in shaping the political narrative and garnering support for the upcoming elections.
