Aurangabad Man Caught with Weapons -In Mumbra, Thane, the police arrested a 19-year-old man named Rakesh Mehta from Aurangabad, who was living in the Sonarpada area of Dombivli.

On Tuesday, the police team near Mumbra railway station found two homemade pistols, a revolver, and three live cartridges in his possession.

Authorities are investigating where Mehta got the firearms and the reasons behind obtaining them. He has been charged under the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.

In a separate incident, the Mumbai police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted a raid in Borivali East, resulting in the arrest of six men planning criminal activities in Mumbai. The ATS received a tip about a group staying at the Ellora Guest House and, suspecting them to be armed and dangerous, raided the place.

During the search, the ATS found a foreign-made pistol, an Indian-made pistol, a homemade pistol, magazines, live bullets, knives, and an SUV with a Delhi license plate. The arrested individuals include Shahadat Hussain, Aslam Sbabbir Ali Khan, Nadeem Yunus Ansari, Rizwan Abdul Lateef, Naushad Anwar, and Adil Khan. The suspects, hailing from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, were allegedly planning a heist or dacoity targeting jewelry shops in Mumbai.

The ATS officer revealed that some of the arrested individuals had previous criminal records, including murder, chain-snatching, dacoity, and robbery. They have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. Deputy Commissioner of Police Smita Patil stated that the accused would be produced before the court for further proceedings.
